Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM
Key Responsibilities:
- Recruit, train, and evaluate performance of departmental staff, ensuring effective workflow management. This role also involves mentoring and developing staff while contributing to the establishment and achievement of departmental objectives.
- Assist in formulating the departmental budget aligned with organizational goals, ensuring financial targets are consistently met.
- Ensure the laboratory maintains its accreditation with relevant regulatory bodies, including the College of American Pathologists (CAP) and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), while adhering to Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) standards and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations.
- Lead process improvement initiatives by participating in task forces aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and compliance, utilizing methodologies such as Six Sigma and Lean.
- Act as a communication facilitator, ensuring timely and accurate information dissemination to internal and external stakeholders regarding specimen management and testing inquiries.
Preferred Qualifications:
- ASCP certification or equivalent credential
- Minimum of 2 years in a supervisory capacity
- At least 4 years of experience in a clinical laboratory setting
- Bachelor's degree in biology or a related scientific discipline
Compensation and Benefits:
- Hourly wage ranging from $28 to $48
