Position Summary:

We are in search of an Athletic Equipment Maintenance Technician to join our Athletic Team. This role entails delivering service and customer support during field operations or dispatches, overseeing all on-site installation, repair, maintenance, and testing tasks, and diagnosing errors or technical issues while identifying appropriate solutions. The equipment serviced will encompass gym apparatus, backstops, basketball hoops, scoreboards, shot clocks, and bleachers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee significant customer projects/orders assigned by the Project Manager Supervisor.
  • Ensure or enhance expected profit margins.
  • Maintain transparent communication with all stakeholders involved in the project, providing timely and professional written responses to customer inquiries regarding products, schedules, installations, and conflicts.
  • Develop and coordinate schedules to guarantee timely project completion, including product delivery and installation.
  • Prepare and submit necessary change orders reflecting cost adjustments based on customer requests for modifications.
  • Address any obstacles hindering the prompt collection of payments from customers, including assisting in creating a billing schedule.
  • Participate in site meetings as required and foster customer relations with site coordinators and other trades.
  • Review and manage projects in accordance with the terms outlined in project contracts.
  • Engage in negotiations with customers, architects, and subcontractors to safeguard company interests.
  • Collaborate with the Sales team to cultivate and maintain relationships with new and existing clients.
  • Attend relevant internal and external training sessions as necessary.
  • Travel to job sites for inspections and participate in various meetings as required.
  • Establish necessary internal and external relationships to effectively manage projects and exceed customer expectations.
  • Work with the Project Manager Supervisor to enhance processes within H2I Group.
  • Comply with company procedures and safety protocols, including daily safety inspections of work areas.

Qualifications:

  • Professional demeanor and punctuality are essential.
  • Experience with various hand tools is required.
  • Must ensure all projects are completed thoroughly and documented.
  • Ability to follow directions from Service or Operations Managers.
  • Proficiency in reading schematics and shop drawings.
  • Capability to troubleshoot, test, repair, and service equipment.
  • Effective communication skills with supervisors and clients.
  • A valid driver's license is necessary for service provision.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Capability to climb and work from scaffolding or electric scissor lifts.
  • Physical tasks may include kneeling, crawling, climbing, and standing for extended periods.
  • Must possess good vision and hearing.
  • Dexterity in both hands for tasks involving reaching and handling.

Working Conditions:

  • This position may involve travel for projects beyond 50 miles from the regional office.
  • Overnight stays may be required for projects located 150 miles or further from the office.
  • Extensive driving to and from job sites is typical.
