About the Role

The ASPCA Animal Hospital is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join our team. As a Veterinary Assistant, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our veterinary team in a fast-paced, high-volume emergency hospital.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide nursing care and client services to surgical patients
  • Assist licensed veterinary technicians and veterinarians with patient care and procedures
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment in the hospital, including surgery suites and instrumentation
  • Document patient concerns and communicate with veterinary team members
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • 2 years' experience in animal care or a related field
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and work standing for 10+ hours
  • Basic to advanced computer skills, including Excel and Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of veterinary hospital protocols and procedures
