The VETERANS HEALTH ADMINISTRATION is seeking a highly skilled Staff Psychologist to join our team. As a Staff Psychologist, you will provide direct patient care, teaching/training services, and program evaluation/outcomes services. You will be responsible for the development and implementation of neuropsychological assessment and consultation specifically for veterans with neurocognitive related disorders.
Key Responsibilities- Provide assessment, treatment, management, and professional consultation services to Veterans and their families.
- Provide an advanced level of neuropsychological service to aid in differential diagnosis, treatment and disposition planning, education, and advocacy of Veterans with cognitive dysfunction.
- Provide expert consultation to other disciplines on issues related to neurocognitive malingering, cognitive dysfunction, and biopsychosocial factors that can deleteriously impact cognition.
- Provide recommendations, interventions, rehabilitation, psychoeducation, and/or advocacy that targets veteran's sensory or motor function loss, pain, sleep problems, dietary and considerations, cognitive enhancement/deficit adaptation, day-to-day function, health and adherence related factors related to cognitive dysfunction maintenance or abatement, psychological coping, somatization, and malingering.
- United States Citizenship: Non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.
- Language Proficiency: Per VA Handbook 5005, Part II, Chapter 3, Section A, Paragraph 3j: No person will be appointed under authority of 38 U.S.C., chapter 73 or 74, to serve in a direct patient-care capacity in VHA who is not proficient in written and spoken English.
- Education Requirement: You must have a doctoral degree in psychology from a graduate program in psychology accredited by the American Psychological Association (APA), the Psychological Clinical Science Accreditation System (PCSAS), or the Canadian Psychological Association (CPA) at the time the program was completed.
- Internship: You must have successfully completed a professional psychology internship training program that was accredited by APA or CPA at the time the program was completed and that is consistent with the assignment for which the applicant is to be employed.
- Licensure: Candidates must hold a full, current, and unrestricted license to practice psychology at the doctoral level in a State, Territory or Commonwealth of the United States, or the District of Columbia.
- ABPP certification in Neuropsychology
Monday- Friday; 8:00am - 4:30pm; subject to change based on the need of the agency
