Position Overview:

The Rehabilitation Therapy Assistant plays a crucial role in delivering care to patients within an outpatient rehabilitation setting. This position is designed for individuals who are dedicated to supporting the recovery and rehabilitation of patients through effective treatment plans.

Location:
WellSpan Health, Myerstown, PA

Schedule:
PRN/Per Diem

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Implement treatment protocols and exercise regimens as prescribed by the supervising Physical Therapist.
  2. Assist in conducting patient assessments and evaluations to ensure comprehensive care.
  3. Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes and achieve rehabilitation goals.
  4. Maintain compliance with all regulatory standards and best practices in physical therapy.
  5. Participate in training sessions for medical and nursing staff on physical therapy methodologies.
  6. Utilize safe patient handling techniques during all interactions with patients.
  7. Document patient progress and maintain accurate records in accordance with professional standards.

Qualifications:
  • Associate's Degree in a relevant field is required.
  • Less than one year of relevant experience is preferred.
  • Current licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant is mandatory upon hire.
  • Basic Life Support certification is required upon hire.

Physical and Environmental Requirements:
Physical demands include occasional standing, walking, and lifting (up to 50 lbs). Exposure to occupational hazards is possible, and adherence to safety protocols is essential.
