Key Responsibilities

  1. Greet all patients and visitors warmly upon their arrival, ensuring a positive experience.
  2. Assist patients with the check-in process, including registration and documentation.
  3. Manage patient registration by collecting necessary signatures and entering data into the electronic medical records (EMR) system, ensuring accuracy in:
  • Primary care details
  • Contact information
  • Insurance specifics
  • Verification of patient identity through identification documents
  • Signed consent forms and demographic data
  • Collection of co-payments and other patient financial responsibilities
Handle incoming calls, providing information and directing inquiries to the appropriate departments.Schedule and reschedule patient appointments as needed, optimizing clinic operations.Provide information about the organization and assist callers with directions and inquiries.Perform various clerical tasks, including filing and maintaining necessary documentation for patient check-in.Enhance patient satisfaction and optimize provider time by managing appointment schedules effectively.Notify providers of patient arrivals and manage service delivery timelines.Support patients by addressing their concerns and maintaining a comfortable reception area.Ensure the availability of treatment information by managing patient records within the EMR.Maintain patient accounts by accurately recording and updating personal and financial information.Oversee front office inventory and equipment, ensuring necessary supplies are available.Assist patients in distress by responding to emergencies as needed.Protect patient confidentiality by maintaining privacy in all communications.Adhere to office policies and procedures, reporting any necessary changes.Contribute to team objectives by achieving related goals.

Qualifications

Education

  • High School diploma or equivalent.

Experience

  • Minimum of one year in a medical front office or similar environment is required.
  • Experience with insurance eligibility and verification is essential.
  • Previous experience as a Medical Assistant is preferred.

Skills

  • Strong professional demeanor with a focus on patient care. Must possess multitasking abilities and be fluent in Spanish.
