Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Addictions Physician to join our team at the Department of Psychiatry. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing addiction services to patients at VCU Health System and teaching addiction psychiatry/medicine.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teaching and Administration: Develop and deliver educational programs for medical students, residents, fellows, and colleagues in addictions psychiatry and other related fields.
  • Clinical: Provide clinical addictions services in addiction medicine, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of patients with addictions.
  • Research: Participate in research activities related to addiction psychiatry and medicine, including the development of research proposals and the publication of research findings.
Requirements
  • U.S. medical degree or equivalent (M.D. or D.O.)
  • Virginia license/licensure-eligible
  • DEA certification
  • Board eligibility or certification in addiction medicine or addiction psychiatry
  • Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU
  • Demonstrated history of working with patients with addictions
