The Senior Vice President (SVP) of Marketing at Planet is a high-impact executive leadership role responsible for developing and executing marketing strategies for our core industries and segments. The ideal candidate will have an excellent background in marketing strategy and execution, brand development, and data-driven decision-making, with a proven track record of driving growth in a technology-focused environment that serves both enterprise B2B clients and government customers.

About This Role

This leader is responsible for planning, creating, and implementing the overall Go-to-Market strategy in partnership with our Sales and Product leadership to promote awareness for our products and services as well as our overall mission. Key responsibilities include leading a team to assess growing markets, trends, and competition, identifying associated use cases we can commercialize, determining market potential and growth, and creating marketing goals and metrics that align with company goals and objectives with clear plans and KPIs.

  • Develop and execute comprehensive marketing strategies to enhance our brand visibility and drive customer acquisition across both enterprise B2B and government sectors.
  • Oversee all marketing functions, including Growth/Digital Marketing, Content Creation, Product and Industry Marketing, and Regional/Field Marketing, optimizing program mix across channels to drive awareness, demand, and influence pipeline.
  • Position and message our Mission and Product vision to a global audience cross-cutting multiple vertical market sectors, validating messaging with a market-in lens.
  • Lead market research initiatives to identify trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape specific to enterprise and government markets.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and vertical market go-to-market teams to align marketing strategies with business objectives and product launches catering to targeted customer segments.
  • Manage the marketing budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources to achieve maximum ROI in both market areas.
  • Build and mentor a high-performing marketing team, fostering a culture of creativity and innovation.
  • Analyze campaign performance and leverage analytics to optimize marketing efforts and improve engagement among enterprise and government audiences.
  • Plan and execute target account-based marketing strategies for key government and enterprise accounts.
  • Serve as a primary spokesperson for our brand at industry events and in media engagements focused around our targeted sectors.
