Position Overview:

TrueCare is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented professional for the role of Temporary Referral Coordinator. This position is integral to our mission of delivering comprehensive and quality healthcare to all individuals, regardless of their financial situation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate and process medical referrals for various services and procedures as directed by healthcare providers.
  • Obtain prior authorizations and request necessary reports to facilitate patient care.
  • Collaborate effectively with referral staff, medical providers, and patient care teams to ensure seamless communication and tracking of referrals.

Work Environment:
This role is based at our Patient Navigation Center and involves a Monday to Friday schedule from 8 AM to 5 PM. You will be part of a motivated team that values customer service and a positive work atmosphere.

Qualifications:
Essential Skills:
  • Exceptional customer service abilities.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • A commitment to serving the community.
  • Robust work ethic and a consistent employment history.

Required:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • A minimum of one year of experience in a medical receptionist or medical assistant role within an outpatient setting, or in medical case management.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology, procedures, and coding (CPT and ICD).
  • Proficiency in PC-based software applications, particularly the Microsoft Office suite.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.
  • Two years of experience in referral coordination or medical assisting.
  • Understanding of insurance processes and authorization requirements.
  • Medical Assistant certification.
  • Experience in a community health center.
  • Knowledge of electronic health records and billing software.
