As a Front Desk Agent with KMG Hotels, you will be the face of our hospitality brand. Our Candlewoods Suites-Olathe property is seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused individual to join our team.

About the Role:

We are looking for an experienced and skilled professional to represent our hotel to guests throughout their stay. As a Front Desk Agent, you will be responsible for checking in and out guests efficiently, ensuring they have everything they need for a comfortable stay. Your warm and knowledgeable service will make a lasting impression on our guests, reassuring them that they've made the right choice to stay with us.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Register guests and assign rooms while accommodating special requests whenever possible.
  • Assist in preregistration and blocking of rooms for reservations.
  • Understand and adhere to proper credit, check-cashing, and cash-handling policies and procedures.
  • Understand room status and room status tracking.
  • Know room locations, types of rooms available, and room rates.
  • Possess a sales-minded approach, presenting options and alternatives to guests and offering assistance in making choices.
  • Use suggestive selling techniques to promote other services of the hotel.
  • Coordinate room status updates with the housekeeping department by notifying them of all check-outs, late check-outs, early check-ins, special requests, and day-use rooms.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of the reservations department, taking same-day reservations and future reservations when necessary.
  • Process guest check-outs efficiently.
  • Work closely with the housekeeping department in maintaining up-to-date room status reports and coordinating requests for maintenance and repair work.
  • Apply proper telephone etiquette and mail, package, and message handling procedures.
  • Attend department meetings and report any unusual occurrences or requests to the manager or assistant manager.
  • Be aware of safety and emergency procedures and understand accident prevention policies.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and neatness of the front desk area.

Requirements:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent qualification.
  • One year of front desk/guest service experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in Opera software is desirable but not essential.
  • Addition language skills are a bonus.
  • Previous hotel-related experience is advantageous.
  • You should possess strong communication skills, be passionate about people and service, and have basic math skills for handling cash and credit transactions.
  • The ability to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, is required.

Benefits and Compensation:

KMG Hotels offers competitive compensation and benefits packages. Based on industry standards and local market conditions, we estimate the annual salary for this position to be around $40,000-$50,000. However, please note that actual compensation may vary depending on individual qualifications and performance.
