We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Material Handler to join our team at Staples. As a Lead Material Handler, you will be responsible for mentoring and training new material handlers, filling in for supervisors as needed, and ensuring a safe and efficient work environment.
Key Responsibilities- Mentor and train new material handlers to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
- Fulfill supervisory responsibilities as needed, including overseeing daily operations and ensuring compliance with safety procedures.
- Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, cherry pickers, turrets, or electric pallet jacks to move product within the warehouse.
- Stack empty pallets and maintain a clean and organized workspace.
- Ensure safe work practices and adhere to Staples' safety culture.
- 12+ months related experience in a warehouse environment or any equivalent combination of acceptable training, education, and experience.
- Ability to pass a drug screen to the extent permissible legally.
- Ability to work additional hours beyond scheduled shift, including overtime as needed.
- Ability to lift, push or pull equipment/merchandise weighing up to 100 pounds.
- Ability to walk and stand 100% of the time.
- Competitive pay: $22.75/hour, starting rate.
