Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Staff Management: Supervise and lead a team of housekeeping staff, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations. Ensure that staff are scheduled and deployed efficiently to meet guest needs.
  • Department Budgeting: Assist the General Manager in developing and managing the department's annual budget. Monitor expenses and ensure that costs are controlled.
  • Quality Control: Maintain high standards of cleanliness and quality in all areas of the hotel, including guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house facilities.
  • Guest Services: Ensure that guest needs are met and exceeded through effective communication and problem-solving.
  • Inventory Management: Manage inventory levels of linens, cleaning supplies, and equipment to ensure that they are adequate and cost-effective.
  • Security: Ensure that all security procedures are followed, including the handling of lost and found items and the security of on-loan equipment.
Requirements
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years experience as Assistant Housekeeper, and 2 years housekeeping experience in a commercial environment in a supervisory capacity; OR, equivalent level of education and experience.
  • Skills: Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and train staff. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
