About the JobWe are seeking a Registered Veterinary Technician to join our team. As an RVT, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, assisting with diagnostic procedures, and communicating with clients. Our hospital offers a fast-paced and dynamic work environment, with opportunities for growth and development.
Responsibilities and Duties- Triage patients and take their vitals, acquiring patient history and other information from clients.
- Assist with diagnostic procedures such as lab work, radiographs, ultrasounds, and echocardiograms.
- Discuss treatment plans and estimates, and payment options with clients.
- Acquire cephalic, saphenous, and jugular blood samples.
- Insert IV catheters, endotracheal tubes, monitor anesthesia, ventilators, and fluid therapy.
- Perform dental prophylaxis on canines and felines, along with diagnostic dental radiographs.
- Operate autoclaves and proper surgical sterilization techniques.
- Process specimens in the in-house laboratory and submit specimens to outside laboratories.
- Calculate medication dosages and provide dosage instructions for clients.
- Enter patients' service charges into the computer database and keep accurate patient records.
- Explain patient instructions to clients and share educational materials.
- Assist in supervising and training other team members.
- Registered Veterinary Technician Certificate Required.
- 1+ Years experience working in a veterinary setting.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- The ability to multi-task and stay focused in a fast-paced environment.
- Confidence and ability to restrain and interact with pets of all sizes.
