Position Overview

The Senior Tax Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing the comprehensive tax obligations of the organization, ensuring compliance with Federal, State, and Local tax regulations. This position requires collaboration with external tax consultants and internal departments to maintain adherence to tax laws.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Oversee tax compliance activities, including the preparation and review of tax documents and assessing the organization's tax footprint.
  • Ensure compliance with established financial, partnership, and tax accounting protocols, while recommending enhancements for improved accuracy and efficiency.
  • Provide insights to management regarding changes in US tax legislation, highlighting potential impacts on the firm and its partners.
  • Formulate and execute tax strategies aimed at optimizing the organization's tax liabilities, while offering guidance on intricate tax matters related to US tax legislation.
  • Engage in discussions related to partner onboarding and staff mobility.
  • Manage transfer pricing strategies and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Supervise the preparation of documentation for auditors and tax consultants, including necessary information for partner K-1s and estimated tax payments.
  • Lead tax audits and address inquiries from tax authorities.
  • Collaborate with various teams to assess tax implications arising from business transactions.
  • Ensure precise and timely reporting of tax provisions and deferred tax liabilities.
  • Oversee the reconciliation of pertinent balance sheet accounts and clarify any discrepancies.
  • Coordinate with Global Finance, Global Partnership Accounts, and Global Tax teams to fulfill global reporting requirements.
  • Foster strong relationships with external advisors and stakeholders.
  • Mentor and supervise junior tax professionals.
  • Address inquiries and conduct ad-hoc analyses as required.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in tax accounting.
  • In-depth knowledge of partnership and corporate taxation.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and analytical skills, with a strong emphasis on accuracy and efficiency.
  • Highly organized and adaptable, capable of meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks effectively while managing multiple responsibilities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Ability to cultivate and maintain professional relationships across various functions and locations.
  • Previous experience in a legal or professional services setting.
  • Familiarity with 3E software.
