POSITION SUMMARY

Fox Corporation is in search of a Senior Tax Manager to oversee our tax functions at the Corporate Head Office. This role is pivotal in managing Federal and State tax compliance as well as tax accounting for the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the preparation and review of U.S. Federal, State, and local corporate and partnership income tax returns, ensuring precision and compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Supervise the assessment of quarterly estimated federal and state tax payments and extensions, ensuring compliance with tax deadlines.
  • Evaluate interim and year-end tax provisions, including the computation of current taxable income and management of deferred tax roll forwards in line with income tax reporting standards.
  • Direct the preparation of foreign-related filings, such as Form 5471s and 1042s, ensuring adherence to international tax regulations and reporting obligations.
  • Collaborate with various departments to comprehend the tax implications of business operations and transactions, identifying and communicating relevant tax impacts to stakeholders.
  • Conduct thorough research on intricate tax issues and consistently monitor changes in tax legislation, effectively communicating insights to tax department leadership for informed decision-making.
  • Lead initiatives aimed at optimizing tax processes and enhancing operational efficiency, implementing improvements for accurate tax data collection and reporting.
  • Provide leadership to direct reports, offering daily guidance, training, and mentorship to develop a skilled team of professionals. Promote a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.
  • Assist in formulating responses to inquiries from tax authorities, ensuring compliance with regulations and representing the organization with professionalism.
  • Engage in various tax projects, including audits and tax planning initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in accounting.
  • Master's degree in taxation or CPA designation preferred.
  • 7+ years of experience in domestic income tax compliance, including a minimum of 2 years in a managerial capacity. Experience in the media sector or with a Big 4 firm is advantageous.
  • Strong grasp of complex domestic corporate income tax principles and tax accounting concepts.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a dynamic work environment.
  • Capability to perform responsibilities effectively and efficiently with minimal oversight.
  • Detail-oriented self-starter with robust organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong tax technical research capabilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
  • Proficient in general accounting, financial analysis, and Excel (including vlookup and pivot tables).
  • Familiarity with Corptax and Alteryx is a plus.
