Join Our Team as a Digital Archivist Intern

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Digital Archivist Intern at the Strong National Museum of Play.

About the Position

The Digital Archivist Intern will work closely with our Archivist to process, arrange, and describe archival collections. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience in archival processing, preservation techniques, and archival management software.

Responsibilities
  • Learn the procedures for using and maintaining our collection database system.
  • Process three small paper-based archival collections by checking information, performing inventory, creating a processing plan, arranging materials, writing finding aids, and entering information into archives space.
  • Assist with inventorying audiovisual and digital components of a larger archival collection.
Requirements
  • Candidate must be enrolled in an accredited university graduate or undergraduate program and have completed coursework in archives, public history, or museum studies.
  • Candidate must work well in a team setting, be reliable, flexible, organized, and self-motivated.
  • Candidate must have strong written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Skills
  • Familiarity with basic archival theory.
  • Demonstrated interest in archives, public history, or museum studies.
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office and other relevant software.
