Responsibilities
  • Develop detailed designs and plans for structures, considering factors such as safety, sustainability, and regulatory compliance.
  • Use engineering software and tools to perform complex calculations and analysis to determine the structural integrity and stability of designs.
  • Conduct site assessments and structural inspections to gather data for the design process and ensure that proposed structures meet specific site requirements.
  • Prepare technical specifications and project proposals to communicate design requirements and expectations to clients and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with architects, construction teams, and other professionals to ensure structural design aligns with overall project goals.
  • Adhere to local and national building codes and regulations to ensure structural designs meet necessary safety and legal standards.
  • Employ CAD software to create 2D and 3D models, drawings, and blueprints, facilitating effective communication of design concepts to clients and construction teams.
  • Identify potential risks and hazards associated with structural designs and implement measures to mitigate these risks during construction and maintenance phases.
  • Perform regular structural assessments and inspections of existing buildings and structures to assess their integrity, identify potential problems, and recommend necessary maintenance or repairs.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to address concerns, provide project updates, and ensure their needs and expectations are met throughout the project lifecycle.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of structural engineering experience
  • PE Colorado license preferred
  • Experience in sustainable design, water distribution, wastewater collection and treatment, open storm water drainage, pavements design/maintenance, roofing, and/or structural analysis is preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
