We are seeking a highly skilled Construction Inspector to join our team at American Water. As a key member of our water resource projects team, you will be responsible for ensuring that construction work is carried out in accordance with contract documents and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities- On-Site Inspection and Quality Control: Conduct regular on-site inspections of construction projects to verify compliance with contract documents and regulatory requirements.
- Permitting and Compliance: Oversee compliance with permits and approvals granted for construction projects, and coordinate with permitting agencies for inspections and certifications.
- Contractor Liaison: Serve as the primary point of contact for construction contractors, and facilitate communication between contractors and the engineering organization.
- Documentation and Record-Keeping: Prepare project documentation in accordance with company standards, and maintain records of work changes and progress.
- Payment Review and Approval: Review and approve construction contractor progress payments.
- Experience: Four (4) years of experience on major construction projects.
- Education: High School Diploma.
- Skills: Knowledge of engineering specifications, surveying principles, construction means and methods, federal and company safety regulations, and critical path and method scheduling principles.
- Certifications: NICET Preferred.
This is a field-based role, requiring regular travel to construction sites.
