The Advanced Practice Nurse operates within a patient-centered coordinated care framework, showcasing competencies in leadership, direct clinical practice, consultation, collaboration, coaching, research, and ethical decision-making.
This role involves working closely with other healthcare professionals to assess, plan, and deliver care tailored to individuals with specific health and safety requirements.
In this position, you will be part of a 24/7 coverage model for the Cardiac Care ICU.
The Physician Assistant is responsible for assisting, monitoring, and managing the daily needs of patients under the guidance and supervision of a physician.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conducts medical evaluations, treatments, and clearances for applicants and team members in accordance with established company profiles and regulatory standards.
- Delivers clinical care with professionalism, acting as an advocate for patients.
- Ensures clinical practice aligns with the regulations set forth by the NJ Board of Medical Examiners and the NJ Department of Health.
- Develops and implements effective care plans.
- Facilitates educational programs for patients and their employers.
- Evaluates existing protocols and standards to integrate best practices into clinical operations.
- Utilizes evidence-based practices to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
- Administers medications safely to support recovery from work-related injuries or illnesses.
- Prescribes medications and recommends over-the-counter options as necessary.
- Initiates laboratory tests, immunizations, and diagnostic procedures as appropriate.
- Demonstrates proficient clinical skills in treatment planning.
- Collaborates with physicians and engages effectively with the healthcare team.
- Exhibits strong communication skills to achieve desired results.
- Maintains organized and accurate documentation of clinical findings and educational efforts.
- Engages in continuous education and maintains professional development in clinical expertise.
- Provides culturally sensitive education tailored to patient needs.
- Acts as a clinical resource for nursing staff and multidisciplinary team members.
- Participates in policy reviews to ensure alignment with current evidence-based practices.
- Identifies and addresses clinical improvement opportunities to enhance care quality.
- Encourages a collaborative work environment that reflects organizational values.
- Seeks opportunities to integrate new clinical knowledge into practice.
- Addresses ethical care issues through interdisciplinary collaboration.
- May float to various clinic locations as needed.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- Master’s Degree.
- Maintains clinical competencies through ongoing education and practice.
- Experience in a relevant patient care setting.
Preferred:
- Master’s Prepared Advanced Practice Nurse.
- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience.
- Strong organizational and computer skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication abilities.
- Emotional intelligence and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
Licenses and Certifications Required:
- New Jersey State Professional Registered Nurse License.
- Advanced Practice Nurse Certification (with Master’s Degree).
- AHA Basic Health Care Life Support HCP Certification.
Licenses and Certifications Preferred:
- CPR Certification.
- Completion of an accredited physician's assistant program.
Licenses and Certifications Required:
- Physician Assistant License.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support Certification.
