Bilingual Patient Advocate

Elevate Patient Financial Solutions is seeking a highly skilled Bilingual Patient Advocate to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in connecting uninsured hospital patients with programs that cover their medical expenses.
Key Responsibilities- Screen uninsured hospital patients to determine eligibility for federal, state, and county medical or disability assistance.
- Complete applications and follow through until approved.
- Document cases accurately and timely in our company systems and hospital systems.
- Provide exceptional customer service skills at all times.
- Participate in ongoing trainings to apply learned content in dealings with patients and cases.
- Maintain assigned work queue of patient accounts.
- Collaborate with hospital staff, case managers, social workers, and financial counselors.
- Answer incoming telephone calls, make outbound calls, and track paperwork for Medicaid patients.
- Maintain structured contact with applicants and government agencies.
- Assist applicants with gathering reports, meeting appointment dates, and arranging transportation.
- Request home visits as needed to acquire documentation.
- Inform clients of approvals and denials of coverage in a timely manner.
- Participate in additional training requirements to stay up-to-date on changing rules and regulations.
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Prior hospital experience preferred.
- Adaptability when dealing with changing processes, computer systems, and government programs.
- Professional experience working with state and federal programs.
- Exemplary critical thinking skills.
- Ability to maneuver throughout the hospital and patients' rooms for up to 8 hours per day.
- Proficient experience with Microsoft Office Suite, with emphasis on Excel and Outlook.
- Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
- Ability to multitask and function in a fast-paced environment.
- Fluency in both English and Spanish.
- Valid driver's license and ability to drive to other local facilities if needed.
