Job Summary

Elevate Patient Financial Solutions is seeking a highly skilled Bilingual Patient Advocate to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in connecting uninsured hospital patients with programs that cover their medical expenses.

Key Responsibilities
  • Screen uninsured hospital patients to determine eligibility for federal, state, and county medical or disability assistance.
  • Complete applications and follow through until approved.
  • Document cases accurately and timely in our company systems and hospital systems.
  • Provide exceptional customer service skills at all times.
  • Participate in ongoing trainings to apply learned content in dealings with patients and cases.
  • Maintain assigned work queue of patient accounts.
  • Collaborate with hospital staff, case managers, social workers, and financial counselors.
  • Answer incoming telephone calls, make outbound calls, and track paperwork for Medicaid patients.
  • Maintain structured contact with applicants and government agencies.
  • Assist applicants with gathering reports, meeting appointment dates, and arranging transportation.
  • Request home visits as needed to acquire documentation.
  • Inform clients of approvals and denials of coverage in a timely manner.
  • Participate in additional training requirements to stay up-to-date on changing rules and regulations.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Prior hospital experience preferred.
  • Adaptability when dealing with changing processes, computer systems, and government programs.
  • Professional experience working with state and federal programs.
  • Exemplary critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to maneuver throughout the hospital and patients' rooms for up to 8 hours per day.
  • Proficient experience with Microsoft Office Suite, with emphasis on Excel and Outlook.
  • Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Ability to multitask and function in a fast-paced environment.
  • Fluency in both English and Spanish.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to drive to other local facilities if needed.
