PET/CT Technologist Job Description

We are seeking a skilled PET/CT Technologist to join our team at New York Imaging Service. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our organization.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Administer radioactive chemical compounds to patients for diagnostic imaging procedures.
  • Operate sophisticated radiation-detecting instrumentation to capture high-quality images.
  • Perform computer processing and image enhancement to ensure accurate diagnostic results.
  • Provide images, data analysis, and patient information to physicians for diagnostic interpretation.
  • Monitor patients' conditions and reactions during scans, reporting any abnormal signs to physicians.
  • Collaborate with radiologists to perform complex PET exams and ensure accurate scan procedures.
  • Build patient trust by obtaining pertinent history, describing procedures, and addressing questions and concerns.
  • Monitor patients' physical condition during procedures and note any specific comments that may indicate the need for additional images or be useful to physicians in interpreting results.
  • Ensure safety measures are in place to protect patients and operators from radiation exposure.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot radiologic equipment to ensure optimal performance.
Requirements:
  • Diploma from a Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) or equivalent.
  • Nuclear Medicine Technologist (NMTCB and/or ARRT-N) certification.
  • NMTCB(CT) and/or ARRT(CT) certification.
  • New York State License.
  • At least 2 years' experience in PET/CT imaging.
