Job Overview

This role is situated within a Forest Service Job Corps Civilian Conservation Center. The selected candidate will be tasked with overseeing, managing, and coordinating all facets of the Center's Food Service program. A significant portion of the time, approximately 85%, will be dedicated to supervising staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervisory Functions
  • Ensure compliance with food handling standards in all areas of the facility, including kitchen and dining staff, in accordance with state, local, or U.S. Public Health Service Food Code.
  • Oversee food preparation processes to maintain nutritional value and taste.
  • Adapt meal plans and make substitutions based on availability of ingredients and program requirements.
  • Manage the operation, maintenance, and sanitation of food service equipment.
  • Plan and organize food procurement efficiently, ensuring quality while adhering to budgetary constraints.
  • Guarantee adherence to safety regulations.
  • Foster a workplace environment that promotes inclusivity and support for all employees.

  • This position is designated for drug testing prior to appointment and on a random basis thereafter.

Qualifications

To qualify, applicants must meet the outlined requirements by the closing date of the announcement. Experience must be clearly demonstrated in the application and resume.

Experience includes both paid and unpaid work, including volunteer service. All relevant experience will be credited.

Additional Information

This position is part of a bargaining unit. Government housing and daycare facilities are not available. This role is not eligible for telework.
