Job Overview:
Oversee a team of maintenance personnel engaged in upkeep activities to guarantee that production machinery, material handling systems, and building infrastructure are functioning efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:
Through direct supervision, ensure that plant equipment is maintained in peak operating condition to minimize production interruptions. Respond promptly to equipment-related production challenges by delegating repair tasks as soon as issues arise.

Develop, manage, and implement all aspects of critical spare parts, recycling, and other equipment-based initiatives as assigned. Ensure the timely completion of work orders, repairs, and preventive maintenance through maintenance management software and document all maintenance activities.

Authorize all parts orders within the approved purchasing limits set by organizational policy. Equip maintenance staff with the necessary tools and parts to perform their tasks effectively.

Collaborate with other departments and individuals to efficiently coordinate equipment and facility maintenance activities. Maintain an orderly and clean maintenance shop.

After-Hours Support:
Responsible for providing after-hours maintenance resources by calling in appropriate staff; personally respond to critical or complex situations.

Team Management:
Select, train, and evaluate the performance of qualified maintenance technicians to ensure a diverse range of expertise within the maintenance department. Provide essential guidance, technical support, and training to ensure all employees work safely and adhere to safety protocols.

Scheduling and Evaluation:
Schedule and assign personnel to ensure coverage for a seven-day maintenance operation; review, edit, and approve employee time cards weekly. Assess individual performance, take disciplinary action when necessary, provide coaching and feedback, and recommend termination when warranted.

Additional Duties:
Assume certain responsibilities of other management during their absence.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, or equivalent knowledge and skills gained through experience. A minimum of five years of experience in the vocational trades, including HVAC, Electrical/Electronics, and Mechanical. Two to three years of supervisory experience in a production or maintenance environment.

Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact effectively with employees at all levels. Ability to motivate and mentor direct reports, identifying their development needs and providing appropriate support.

Proficient in managing multiple priorities simultaneously, utilizing effective organizational skills and judgment in a dynamic environment. Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word for document creation, Excel for data management, and Outlook for communication.

Work is typically performed in a manufacturing setting, exposed to varying temperatures, and requires the use of personal protective equipment. The role involves regular physical activity, including sitting, standing, bending, and lifting up to 50 pounds. Vision abilities include close vision for computer work.
