Job Title: Addictions Physician

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Addictions Physician to join our team at Acadia Healthcare. As a key member of our medical staff, you will be responsible for providing medical services to patients struggling with opioid use disorder. Your expertise will play a critical role in helping patients achieve recovery and live fulfilling lives.

Responsibilities:

  • Prescribe, dispense, and administer medication for the treatment of substance abuse in accordance with federal and state laws and regulations.
  • Conduct complete physicals, provide treatment, and counsel patients to ensure their medical stability and eligibility for our program.
  • Review medical information on patients to offer medical recommendations and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Evaluate patient care, adjusting the plan of care based on outcomes, diagnostic test results, and patient feedback.
  • Provide patient and staff education on medical maintenance and ensure compliance with CARF standards and clinic policy and procedure.

Requirements:

  • Doctoral degree in Medicine (MD or DO) from an accredited college or university.
  • Previous experience in a substance use (SUD) treatment program preferred.
  • No history of alcohol or drug misuse for a period of three years before employment.

Licenses/Certifications:

  • Current license to practice medicine by the state in which the clinic(s) operates.
  • Board certification or certificate of admissibility for board certification preferred.
  • Current DEA credentials required to prescribe controlled substances without restrictions and per regulation within the state in which the practitioner will be working.
