Position Overview:
Senior Civil Engineering Specialist

Location:
Remote/Various Locations

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development of bidding and construction packages for civil works.
  • Execute grading and earthwork calculations with precision.
  • Design stormwater management systems and oversee the permitting process.
  • Create erosion and sediment control designs while managing the associated permits.
  • Prepare and submit local land development applications.
  • Formulate access road design plans.
  • Generate gravity drain piping designs and profile drawings.
  • Develop pipeline profile drawings for Biogas (Renewable Natural Gas) projects.
  • Design lift stations and equipment foundations.
  • Collaborate with land surveying contractors to ensure accuracy.
  • Coordinate geotechnical studies and apply findings effectively.
  • Conduct due diligence on potential biogas sites, assessing their viability.
  • Work closely with project Lead CAD/Designers, Engineers, and Project Managers to produce comprehensive civil drawing packages, including site plans, grading plans, details, and drainage plans.
  • Maintain thorough documentation of calculations and civil engineering records for each project.
  • Establish and uphold civil design and engineering standards and procedures.
  • Provide guidance and support to design teams and drafters.
  • Occasionally perform site visits to assess conditions and gather information for site development.
  • Foster strong relationships with colleagues across various locations.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and company policies in all activities.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering is mandatory.
  • A minimum of seven (7) years of relevant civil engineering experience is preferred.
  • At least two (2) years of experience in a lead civil engineering role is required.
  • Proficiency in Autodesk Civil 3D software is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with digester and lagoon design is a plus.
  • Experience in creating easement drawings and land property exhibits is preferred.
  • Missouri Professional Engineering registration is essential; North Carolina license is also a plus.
  • Background in structural steel design is preferred.
