Join The Steppingstone Foundation as a College Success Advisor and play a vital role in supporting the academic and personal growth of our Scholars. As a key member of our team, you will work closely with students and their families to ensure a smooth transition to college and beyond.
Responsibilities:- Develop and maintain meaningful relationships with a caseload of Scholars, providing individualized support and guidance to ensure their academic success and post-secondary readiness.
- Collaborate with program staff to design and implement college and career readiness programming, including workshops, events, and one-on-one advising sessions.
- Support Scholars in navigating the college application and financial aid processes, ensuring they have the resources and opportunities necessary to succeed.
- Work closely with families to provide resources and support, empowering them to make informed decisions about their child's education and future.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of program-wide initiatives, using data and best practices to drive decision-making and improve outcomes.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as education, counseling, or social work.
- 1-2+ years of experience working in college counseling or a related field, preferably in an urban, multicultural setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Knowledge of college access and persistence strategies, as well as experience working with historically marginalized populations.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
