New York, New York, United States Traba Full time
About Traba

Traba is revolutionizing the light industrial industry by harnessing the power of AI and the internet. Our mission is to modernize the industry by connecting manufacturing and distribution facilities throughout the US with reliable and hardworking temp labor, creating more profitable and productive businesses, and better career opportunities for our workers. Backed by top investors, including Founders Fund, Khosla Ventures, and General Catalyst, we're committed to empowering the next generation of leaders in the industry.

Job Description

We're on the hunt for an innovative and experienced product designer to help us reimagine the antiquated staffing industry. As a product designer, you'll collaborate with software engineers, field teams, and our leadership to design practical on-the-floor solutions for our light industrial customers. This role reports to our Head of Product, who is also a designer with over 20 years of experience from top tech brands. You'll have the opportunity to partner closely with our founders and leadership team to bring our product vision to life.

About You

  • You're a champion of the user, always thinking about journeys, slaying friction, and adding value to every interaction. You're a fierce advocate for usability and accessibility, ensuring that every design decision is guided by a deep understanding of our users' needs.

  • You're a systems thinker, with a keen eye for first-principles thinking. You spend as much time thinking about 'why' as you do 'how,' always pushing the boundaries of what's possible and what's desirable.

  • You're an impeccable designer with a keen sense of taste and attention to detail. You appreciate the small nuances that make all the difference in creating seamless and intuitive interfaces.

  • You're inventive and scrappy, always looking for new ways to solve problems and push the boundaries of what's possible. Whether it's hardware, software, service, or a little bit of tape and glue, you're always up for a challenge.

  • You're deeply collaborative, working closely with everyone around the company, as well as our users, to form and solve a wide variety of ideas and problems. You thrive in a fast-paced, always-growing environment, structuring ambiguity, iterating quickly, and without ego to deliver the best solution.

Responsibilities

  • You'll be the architect and steward of our design system and brand identity, ensuring that every design decision is guided by a deep understanding of our users and the industry.

  • You'll solve operational problems with a mix of hardware, software, and service design, always looking for new ways to improve our products and services.

  • You'll push a lot of pixels in Figma, using software as the primary lever for scaling manual operations.

  • You'll quickly prototype your work to help your colleagues evaluate your designs, always prioritizing iteration and feedback.

  • You'll evolve the business and worker experience in our native and web apps, always looking for new ways to improve our products and services.

  • You'll scale manual operations efforts using our Ops Console, internal-facing software that's designed to make life easier for our users.

  • You'll deeply understand, frame, and visualize the needs of our businesses and workers, always prioritizing empathy and understanding.

  • You'll visualize abstractions, like the flow of data in our systems, to facilitate input and action.

  • You'll bootstrap user research to quickly validate concepts and usability, always prioritizing user feedback and iteration.

  • You'll socialize your work freely and solicit plenty of feedback, always prioritizing collaboration and improvement.

Qualifications

  • You have 5-15 years of in-house software design experience, with a track record of solving complex UX and UI problems.

  • You have mastery of software design tools, including Figma.

  • You've built and/or significantly contributed to multiple design systems, always prioritizing collaboration and improvement.

  • You have a strong understanding of how software is built, ideally with coding skills.

  • You've experience validating your designs with informal usability testing, always prioritizing user feedback and iteration.

  • You have evidence of shipping features and user experiences that have moved the needle, always prioritizing impact and results.

  • You have a desire to work at a startup and cover a very large surface, always prioritizing innovation and growth.

  • You have a strong and ambitious work ethic, ideally with a drive to make a dent.

  • You're eternally optimistic and pleasant to work with, always prioritizing collaboration and improvement.

Benefits

  • We offer start-up equity, a competitive salary, and 100% paid health, dental, and vision coverage.

  • We provide dinner via Grubhub and a stocked kitchen for our NY employees, as well as a commuter benefit.

  • We offer team-building events, a Gympass benefit, and flexible PTO.

  • We also offer additional benefits, including One Medical Membership, Gympass, HSA via Optum, Talkspace, HealthAdvocate, and Teledoc Health.

Compensation

The compensation range for this position is set between $150,000-$200,000, reflecting our market analysis and other relevant considerations. However, exceptions may be made for candidates with qualifications that significantly differ from those outlined in the job description.
