Our Emergency Department, which accommodates 38 beds, is located near one of Southern California's stunning beaches. It fosters a collaborative atmosphere with a leadership team that has a long-standing presence. The unit offers self-scheduling options, promoting flexibility. The ideal candidate will be a team-oriented individual eager to learn, with experience in a dynamic emergency setting, and a strong work ethic.

Key Responsibilities of the Patient Care Supervisor:

  • Ensure nursing practices align with established standards and foster a culture of patient safety.
  • Collaborate with the Patient Care Manager to share leadership duties for the nursing unit, including daily staffing management.
  • Oversee the effective and timely use of bed placement technology and adherence to care protocols for patient transfers and discharges.
  • Facilitate the safe transition of patients through the continuum of care, ensuring active participation from nursing staff in care planning and coordination.

Retention Incentive Criteria: To maintain eligibility for retention incentives, the following conditions must be met:

  • Must retain original FTE status and shift as specified in the offer letter.
  • Must remain in the original department/specialty.
  • Must maintain the original job title.
  • Transfers to other locations will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis and may affect remaining incentive eligibility.

Required Qualifications:

  • Current California RN license.
  • Two years of relevant clinical experience in an adult Emergency Department as an RN.
  • One year of recent leadership experience (including Charge Nurse role).
  • Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, and PALS for Healthcare Providers.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, team development, planning, and follow-through skills.
  • Ability to exercise authority and responsibility for assigned services based on organizational scope and patient care complexity.
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing.
  • CEN – Certified Emergency Nurse.
