About the Role

Eastern Virginia Medical School is seeking a highly skilled Physician Assistant II, Combined to join our team. This full-time position offers an estimated annual salary of $120,000 - $150,000, depending on experience.

The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting physical examinations, performing medical treatments, and assisting with surgical procedures in office or affiliated hospitals. The primary work schedule will be 3pm – 11pm or 11pm – 7am (2nd/3rd shift) with opportunities to work office hours in clinic when needed.

The ideal candidate will have a Master's degree in Physician Assistant Studies and experience working with patients in a surgical setting. A license to practice as a PA in Virginia and certification by the National Commission on the Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) are also required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patient Care: Examine patients, obtain medical history, and determine diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
  • Surgical Procedures: Assist with minor inpatient/outpatient surgical procedures, including pre-operative interviews and exams.
  • Therapy Monitoring: Monitor patient therapies and continuity of care.
  • Medication Management: Preview the Prescription Monitoring Program (PMP), prescribe medications, and treat illnesses.
