About the Job

We are seeking a skilled Public Relations Coordinator to join our team at the Hillsborough County Sheriff - Florida. This role will be responsible for developing and implementing effective public relations strategies to promote the agency's image and raise awareness about important social issues.

Job Description:

  • Develop and implement public relations plans to achieve the agency's strategic objectives
  • Build and maintain relationships with community groups, stakeholders, and other external partners to promote the agency's mission and goals
  • Prepare and disseminate press releases, media kits, and other communication materials to share the agency's story with the public
  • Engage with local, regional, and national media outlets to secure coverage and interviews

Responsibilities:

  1. Public Relations Strategy: Develop and implement comprehensive public relations plans to achieve the agency's strategic objectives
  2. Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with community groups, stakeholders, and other external partners to promote the agency's mission and goals
  3. Communication Materials: Prepare and disseminate press releases, media kits, and other communication materials to share the agency's story with the public
  4. Media Outreach: Engage with local, regional, and national media outlets to secure coverage and interviews

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, or related field
  • 3+ years of experience in public relations, communications, or related field
  • Excellent writing, editing, and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Salary Range: $90,000 - $120,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications
