ROLE SUMMARY
The Facilities Maintenance Specialist is responsible for executing a range of routine maintenance tasks to ensure the proper functioning and upkeep of our facilities. This role includes performing repairs, preventative maintenance, and ensuring compliance with safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct semi-skilled maintenance tasks including plumbing, carpentry, and painting.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of facility grounds and common areas.
- Assist in preparing rental units for new occupants, including minor renovations and repairs.
- Handle plumbing fixtures and systems, ensuring proper installation and maintenance.
- Perform flooring repairs and cleaning as needed.
- Engage in preventative maintenance activities and document compliance.
- Inspect facilities for safety compliance and maintain organized maintenance areas.
- Respond promptly to safety-related issues and complete work orders efficiently.
- Oversee the cleaning and turnover of apartment units.
- Participate in emergency response situations as required.
- Manage inventory of maintenance supplies and tools.
- Provide supportive service to staff and collaborate effectively with team members.
- Ensure all work is completed safely and accurately, adhering to established standards.
- Assist colleagues in maintenance tasks as needed.
- Remain available for on-call duties as scheduled.
- Demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in all interactions.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Basic math skills and ability to read effectively.
- Experience in multi-family property maintenance is advantageous.
REQUIREMENTS:
All candidates must meet the following:
- Verification of employment eligibility.
- Willingness to obtain CPR/First Aid certification.
- Successful completion of a tuberculosis test, background screening, and drug test.
DRIVING REQUIREMENTS:
This position requires reliable transportation and a valid driver's license, along with proof of insurance for personal vehicles used for work-related duties.
