Job Summary:

The Facilities Maintenance Specialist is responsible for maintaining a safe, clean, and pleasant environment for dealership employees and customers in accordance with company policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cleans work areas, empties trash, and collects scrap and used materials to process in accordance with company policy and local, state, and federal regulations
  • Performs routine building maintenance in such a manner as to minimize interruption of customers or employees
  • Washes windows, glass doors, and glass panels throughout service, sales, and customer areas
  • Arranges for contract window cleaning and supervises the work of the contract window cleaning
  • Housekeeping and Sanitation:
    • Sweeps, vacuums, and mops floors on schedule
    • Arranges for buffing or waxing and carpet cleaning per scheduled floor maintenance program
    • Cleans all signs, posters, service signs, mirrors, fans, and vending machines
    • Maintains hot beverage areas by cleaning counter surfaces and restocking coffee and related supplies
    • Cleans bathrooms and restocks paper supplies as needed
  • Maintenance and Repair:
    • Cleans forklift and power equipment
    • Empties and cleans all trash receptacles, interior and exterior
    • Removes all debris from the dealership
    • Maintains yard equipment and cleaning supplies
    • Cleans oil storage tanks according to procedure
    • Drains and disposes of used oil filters properly
    • Removes and disposes of scrap materials as directed
  • Additional Responsibilities:
    • Assists technicians with oil and water spills and with emptying drain tubs
    • Maintains and wears all required safety and health personal protective equipment, including respirator, in the manner recommended by the equipment manufacturer and in accordance with company policies
    • Complies with all laws and regulations pertaining to working with hazardous materials
    • Reports any deviations to management immediately
    • Communicates with supervisor if additional work is needed
    • Follows all attendance and punctuality standards with adherence to timekeeping standards
    • Follows the Company Code of Business Ethics and Conduct
    • Understands and follows all work rules and procedures and follows lawful directions from supervisors
    • Upholds the company's non-disclosure and confidentiality policies and agreements
    • Maintains a professional appearance in accordance with company policy
    • Attends pertinent training on request
    • Attends company meetings as required

Requirements:

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent and 3 months of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A valid driver's license is also required.

Work Environment:

The Facilities Maintenance Specialist will primarily work in an automotive shop environment. The workspace is covered, but may involve various weather conditions such as heat and cold as well as safety hazards due to the nature of work. The position may require standing for prolonged periods of time, pushing, pulling, climbing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, grasping, and walking on a regular basis. The position involves repetitive motion and requires the ability to talk and hear. The employee must be able to wear all required personal protective equipment and may work in extreme heat or cold.

Physical Demands:

The position requires the ability to lift over 50 pounds with assistance and/or frequent lifting or carrying of objects weighing up to or over 35 pounds with assistance available as needed.
