Title: Infrastructure Automation Engineer

We utilize Infrastructure as Code (IaC) methodologies and DevOps principles to oversee our enterprise's IT framework, which underpins essential business operations. The ideal candidate will be part of a dynamic, multidisciplinary team tasked with the design, execution, integration, and maintenance of the enterprise IT ecosystem, encompassing secure cloud-based and on-premises environments. Responsibilities of the Infrastructure Automation Engineer will include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Investigating available technological solutions and assessing their functional, performance, security, and interoperability features; conducting tests and evaluations of technology components;
  • Collaborating with system architects and lead engineers to enhance the architecture and design of the Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions;
  • Creating, developing, and updating technology-specific, configurable, and reusable automation modules for network and systems infrastructure, data storage, messaging, and cybersecurity components and services;
  • Developing and maintaining infrastructure configuration code for both new and existing enterprise IT solutions;
  • Enhancing and maintaining DevOps infrastructure, including source code repositories (Git), deployment pipelines, and associated components;
  • Planning, assessing, and executing capacity optimization, updates, upgrades, and other lifecycle activities related to the solution; resolving functional and performance issues;
  • Producing and maintaining comprehensive and precise system documentation, including design and configuration plans, design diagrams, task-oriented procedures, and operations and maintenance plans.

Specific qualifications for this role include:

  • 5 years of progressive experience in systems engineering, implementation, and support roles;
  • Advanced knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and DevOps architectures, processes, and best practices;
  • Extensive experience with automation frameworks (e.g., Terraform, Ansible), development tools (e.g., Visual Studio), source code management systems (e.g., Git), build servers, artifact repositories, and related components;
  • Familiarity with application lifecycle management systems, such as Atlassian Jira, Azure DevOps, GitLab, etc.;
  • Understanding of MS Windows platform and services, including Active Directory, Group Policy Objects (GPO), virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI), application deployment frameworks, networking, and storage services, along with their cybersecurity characteristics;
  • Hands-on experience with MS Azure and cloud services, including compute, database, storage, network virtualization, and security services;
  • Knowledge of network infrastructure, operational concepts, and protocols such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, SNMP, Syslog, etc.

General skills required:

  • Proven time management and organizational skills in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary team environment;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities;
  • Excellent communication skills (both oral and written);
  • Proficiency with workflow and lifecycle management systems (e.g., Atlassian Jira).

Education and Certification:

  • Education:
    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Certification:
    • Microsoft Certified Professional / Systems Engineer certification is highly desirable;
    • Security+ or CISSP certification is also highly desirable.
