Psychiatric Social Worker

Job Summary:
The Psychiatric Social Worker will be a vital member of our psychiatric partial hospitalization program, utilizing various therapy modalities to provide individual, group, and family psychotherapy. This role involves facilitating the Dual Diagnosis Track, focusing on the Disease Concept of Addiction, Harm Reduction, 12-Step Methodology, AA, and Rational Recovery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide clinical interventions to maximize patient and family benefit from treatment.
- Independently provide individual, family, and/or group therapy consistent with the treatment plan and program philosophy.
- Utilize clinical expertise to provide patient and family with education and support to assist them in dealing with their condition.
- Serve as an advocate for the patient and family.
- Share expertise with other departments to facilitate treatment to patients.
- Demonstrate initiative and teamwork in facilitating unit process.
Requirements:
- MSW or MA/MS in Behavioral Health/Counseling related field.
- 2 years post-graduate experience.
- LCSW or LCPC within state of IL.
Working Conditions:
The Psychiatric Social Worker will work in a fast-paced environment with established time constraints and in difficult situations. May be exposed to hazardous materials and life-threatening diseases. Knowledge of universal precautions is a must.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance. For patient lifts of over 35 pounds, or when patient is unable to assist with the lift, patient handling equipment is expected to be used, with at least one other associate, when available.
