Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Technologist to join our team at the American Red Cross. As a Medical Technologist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and quality of blood products for patients in need.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform basic and advanced donor and patient tests to determine donor-recipient compatibility
  • Provide complex reference and consultation services to hospitals and transfusion services
  • Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, including automated and manual test procedures on blood samples
Requirements
  • ASCP certification as a Medical Technologist (MLT), Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS), or Blood Bank Specialist (BB)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to interact with internal and external customers
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proficiency in using laboratory equipment and software
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in a blood bank or reference laboratory setting
