Position Overview:
The Utilization Management Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for executing utilization management tasks, utilizing medical necessity guidelines to assess the suitable patient status. This role involves managing denial and appeal processes for inpatient hospital services. Cases will be escalated to the Physician Advisor in accordance with departmental protocols.

This position requires collaboration with the Case Management Departments and the healthcare team to maintain effective communication channels, ensuring optimal patient outcomes and care.


Educational and Professional Qualifications:

Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing is mandatory.

Experience:
A minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in case management, discharge planning, or utilization management is essential.

Licensure and Certification:
Must possess a Registered Nurse license in the state of employment. Certification in InterQual criteria is preferred.


Covid Vaccination is a requirement for employment at Jefferson for employees working at Jefferson’s clinical entities or at the University.
