HVAC Project Supervisor for Corrections Facilities

Position Overview:

The Commonwealth of Virginia is seeking a dedicated HVAC Project Supervisor to join the Corrections Construction Unit. This role is essential in managing commercial construction sites, ensuring efficient operations alongside assigned personnel. Key responsibilities include:

  • Exercising ethical decision-making and resource management
  • Coordinating daily site activities in alignment with project plans and timelines
  • Overseeing a workforce comprising both skilled and unskilled labor
  • Ensuring adherence to safety regulations and construction standards

Essential Qualifications:

High School diploma or equivalent

Valid State Issued Driver's License

Experience in at least two areas of commercial construction

Ability to read and interpret construction documents, codes, and specifications

Familiarity with the Virginia Uniform Statewide Building Code (VUSBC) and OSHA regulations

Proficient in communication and operation of construction tools and machinery

Capability to work both independently and collaboratively

Physically fit to perform tasks such as climbing, lifting, and working in varying weather conditions

Preferred Qualifications:

Current DPOR HVAC construction trades licensure

EPA 608 refrigerant certification

Experience operating construction earthmoving equipment

Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a minimum Class "B" classification
