Job Title: HVAC Superintendent

This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity to join the Virginia Department of Corrections as an HVAC Superintendent. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing the installation, maintenance, and repair of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems in our facilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate the daily activities of a team of skilled and unskilled laborers to ensure the successful completion of projects.
  • Exercise sound judgment and make decisions that align with the department's goals and objectives.
  • Develop and implement plans to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless operations.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid state-issued driver's license.
  • Primarily skilled in construction trade; HVAC in commercial applications.
  • Experience in at least two commercial construction trades.
  • Experience in supervision and instruction of a minimal-skilled workforce in the commercial construction arena.
  • Experience in managing construction project schedules with minimum direct supervision.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Current DPOR HVAC construction trades licensure.
  • EPA 608 refrigerant certification.
  • Experience in the operations of construction earthmoving equipment.
  • Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with minimum Class B classification.

This is a full-time salaried position with a competitive salary range of $55,945 - $87,274.
