Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and manage transportation planning projects, including researching, analyzing, and assisting in planning studies related to transportation within the metropolitan planning area.
  • Conduct research and collect, analyze, and interpret data to inform project recommendations.
  • Perform needs assessments, surveys, and special studies to gather pertinent information.
  • Develop project procedures and schedules, and present recommendations to management and/or committees and board.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need a Bachelor's degree in Transportation Planning, Urban/Regional Planning, Geography, Public Administration, Engineering, Geospatial Information Systems (GIS), Sociology, or a related field, and two years of experience in transportation planning and/or project management. Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.

Preferred qualifications include experience utilizing Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Creative Suite. A valid Florida Driver's license and authorization to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis are also required.

Working Conditions

This is a full-time position that requires working in a fast-paced environment with occasional evenings and weekends. The selected candidate will be employed by the SCTPO, not Brevard County Board of County Commissioners.
