Job Title: Direct Care Supervisor

Eckerd Youth Alternatives is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Direct Care Supervisor to join our team. As a Direct Care Supervisor, you will play a critical role in ensuring the well-being and success of our youth residents.

Job Summary:

The Direct Care Supervisor will supervise, direct, and evaluate the work of Youth Counselor/Teacher and Senior Youth Counselor/Teacher subordinates. This includes interviewing and selecting applicants for Youth Counselor/Teacher positions, ensuring group schedules and program activities are appropriate and productive, and contributing to the educational development of clients.

Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and direct the work of Youth Counselor/Teacher and Senior Youth Counselor/Teacher subordinates
  • Interview and select applicants for Youth Counselor/Teacher positions
  • Ensure group schedules and program activities are appropriate and productive
  • Contribute to the educational development of clients
  • Serve as a co-teacher while youth attend the on-site school
  • Monitor youth behavior and ensure a safe and conducive learning environment
  • Submit elective course assessments and ensure documentation is shared with the Education Administrator/Coordinator
  • Assist in maintaining a therapeutic working relationship between direct care staff and education staff
  • Coordinate and oversee ongoing Youth Counselor/Teacher training plan
  • Supervise the development of and implementation of chores and sanitation procedures
  • Conduct safety checks to ensure a safe environment for youth and staff
  • Inspect and inventory program equipment and materials
  • Supervise therapeutic outings and ensure planning and preparation
  • Ensure timely, accurate, and complete documentation of incidents and restraint events
Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in a social or human service field or a Bachelor's degree with 2+ years' experience working with youth
  • One year of supervisory experience required
  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • Ability to travel about property, through wilderness terrain
  • Ability to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods of time
  • Constant exposure to outdoors and/or weather conditions
  • Required to pass a drug screen
