Job Summary

N Street Village INC is seeking a dedicated Program Associate to join our team at Patricia Handy Place for Women. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide essential services to women participating in our programs, ensuring a safe, welcoming, and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop positive relationships with clients through regular contact and communication
  • Assist with program setup, including preparing meals, toiletries, and activity sheets
  • Help maintain a clean and organized day program area
  • Serve meals to clients and conduct initial health and wellness screenings
  • Respond to client needs, de-escalate crisis situations, and enforce program rules
  • Complete necessary program documentation and support care coordination tasks
  • Collaborate with volunteers and partner agencies to provide comprehensive services
  • Attend program team meetings and supervision meetings as required
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree with 1 year of direct social services experience, or
  • High School Diploma (or equivalent) with 2 years of direct social services experience, or
  • High School Diploma (or equivalent) with 5 years of work experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with vulnerable populations, particularly those facing addiction and mental illness
  • Familiarity with DC's Homeless Management Information System (HMIS)
  • Knowledge of issues affecting homelessness and other vulnerable populations
  • Understanding of trauma-informed care
  • Commitment to inclusivity and providing services without regard to race, religion, ability, sexual orientation, or gender identity
