JOB OVERVIEW

A Parts Consultant at a Genesis dealership is pivotal in assisting retail clients who visit the dealership's parts division to acquire Genesis automotive components and accessories for their vehicles. This role emphasizes delivering exceptional customer service and technical support, ensuring that customers enjoy a positive experience when purchasing parts. The Parts Consultant often serves as the initial point of contact for retail clients seeking parts and accessories, making strong customer service abilities, technical expertise, and a welcoming attitude essential for success in this position. Furthermore, attention to detail, organizational capabilities, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic environment are valuable traits for a Parts Consultant at a Genesis dealership.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Customer Engagement: Deliver outstanding customer service by greeting and assisting retail clients who visit the parts division. Address customer inquiries and aid them in identifying and selecting the appropriate Genesis components and accessories for their vehicles.
  2. Parts Recognition: Utilize your knowledge of Genesis vehicles and the parts catalog to accurately identify the components or accessories customers require. Provide guidance on compatibility and suitability for specific vehicle models.
  3. Technical Support: Provide technical assistance and guidance to clients who may have questions regarding parts installation, maintenance, or repairs. Explain the proper use and care of components and accessories.
  4. Pricing Information: Offer precise price quotes for components and accessories. Clarify pricing, discounts, and any applicable promotions to clients.
  5. Order Management: Process customer orders efficiently and accurately. Utilize dealership software and systems to create invoices, track sales, and manage customer accounts.
  6. Inventory Oversight: Assist with inventory management by monitoring stock levels, restocking components, and organizing the parts division to ensure that items are readily accessible and well-maintained.
  7. Returns and Exchanges: Manage returns and exchanges of components and accessories in accordance with dealership policies and procedures. Ensure that returned items are inspected for quality and reentered into inventory as appropriate.
  8. Payment Handling: Collect payments from clients for parts and accessories purchases. Process cash, credit card transactions, and other payment methods according to dealership protocols.
  9. Promotions and Upselling: Promote special sales, discounts, and promotions to retail clients to enhance sales revenue. Identify opportunities for upselling or suggesting complementary accessories.
  10. Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of all customer transactions, including sales receipts, invoices, and order forms. Ensure that all documentation is properly filed and archived.
  11. Compliance and Safety: Adhere to safety regulations and dealership policies, particularly when handling hazardous materials or operating equipment.
  12. Continuous Development: Stay informed about industry trends, new Genesis models, and advancements in parts and accessories technology through ongoing training and professional development.

QUALIFICATIONS
  1. Education: A high school diploma or equivalent. Additional automotive or parts-related coursework may be beneficial.
  2. Automotive Acumen: A solid understanding of automotive components, accessories, and Genesis vehicles is essential. This knowledge aids in accurately identifying and recommending the right parts for clients.
  3. Customer Service Expertise: Exceptional customer service skills are crucial. You'll interact directly with retail clients, necessitating effective communication, active listening, and problem-solving abilities.
  4. Technical Knowledge: Basic understanding of vehicle mechanics and automotive terminology is valuable for providing technical assistance to clients.
  5. Computer Proficiency: Familiarity with computer software for parts cataloging, inventory management, and order processing is often required. Experience with dealership management systems (DMS) can be advantageous.
  6. Problem-Solving Skills: Parts Consultants may encounter complex customer inquiries or issues. The ability to analyze problems and find solutions is beneficial.
  7. Cash Handling Skills: If the role involves processing cash payments, cash-handling skills and financial responsibility are required.
  8. Ethical Standards: Upholding high ethical standards, including honesty and integrity, is essential when managing customer transactions and dealership assets.
