Job Summary

As the Assistant Director of Financial Operations at Boston University, you will lead the monitoring and maintenance of the University's unrestricted budget, as well as position budgets, in the University's central Budget & Planning office. You will oversee the budgeting, planning, and analysis completed within the office for all academic, administrative, and auxiliary units and departments. You will manage a team of analysts and be responsible for guiding and supporting their professional development. You will work collaboratively with other finance and administrative positions across the University to facilitate problems that arise.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the monitoring and maintenance of the University's unrestricted budget and position budgets.
  • Oversee budgeting, planning, and analysis for all academic, administrative, and auxiliary units and departments.
  • Manage a team of analysts and guide their professional development.
  • Collaborate with other finance and administrative positions to facilitate problem-solving.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, or finance.
  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant work experience, including supervisory experience.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to interact with constituencies across the University.
  • Excellent analytical skills and ability to write a summary of analyses in a concise and clear manner.
