About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Executive Sous Chef to join our team at Trinity Health. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for creating and overseeing new and upscale menu programs for patient and guest food service operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef to research and design new menu plans for various food service programs and customer populations, focusing on current culinary trends and heart-healthy cooking.
  • Develop and maintain recipes, files, and quantity reports relative to these programs.
  • Inventory supplies and prepare purchasing lists weekly, completing appropriate forms and related computer data entry.
  • Ensure daily special menus are prepared and presented appropriately and on-time by setting production schedules.
  • Oversee the work of Cooks and Culinary Assistants and serving staff assigned to assist in these special preparations.
  • Provide training to other staff as needed.
  • Prepare complex and high-skilled culinary dishes, following established production guidelines, and maintain responsibility for the quality of the end product.
  • Conduct research into customer likes and dislikes and make appropriate changes to menu offerings using customer suggestions.
  • Act as lead person in the production area and relieve for the Chef/Manager when necessary.
  • Maintain good rapport and cooperative relationships, approaching conflict in a constructive manner.
  • Maintain the confidentiality of information acquired pertaining to patients, physicians, employees, and visitors to Trinity Health facilities.
  • Behave in accordance with the Mission, Vision, and Values of Trinity Health.
  • Assume responsibility for the performance of job duties in the safest possible manner, to assure personal safety and that of coworkers, and to report all preventable hazards and unsafe practices immediately to management.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Basic skills in reading, writing, and arithmetic required.
  • Two to three years related experience preferred.
