Your daily tasks will involve aligning initiatives with organizational goals, crafting detailed work schedules, leading teams, meeting targets, and conveying outcomes to stakeholders. The Project Manager is responsible for planning and distributing resources, formulating budgets, tracking progress, and keeping stakeholders updated throughout the project lifecycle. All these activities are conducted within the framework of fulfilling a company's objectives and realizing its vision. The responsibilities of the Project Manager may vary from one initiative to another.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure timely delivery of all projects within the defined scope and budget.
  • Lead the initiation and planning phases of projects while confirming technical feasibility.
  • Guarantee resource availability and allocation.
  • Develop a comprehensive plan to monitor and assess project progress.
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders for seamless project execution.
  • Manage relationships between clients and stakeholders.
  • Evaluate project performance using suitable project management tools.
  • Conduct risk management assessments to mitigate project risks.
  • Report and escalate issues to upper management as necessary.
  • Create and maintain thorough project documentation.

The Project Manager should be knowledgeable about specific requirements and processes relevant to the organization, including but not limited to: permit boards, engineering offices, health and safety manuals, visitor requests, and safety plans for subcontractors.

Moreover, the Project Manager should assist in developing Building Information Models (BIM) for facilities, familiarize themselves with layouts and floor plans of various buildings, and support personnel with technical challenges on smaller projects that do not necessitate full-time project management oversight. The ideal candidate should be capable of providing on-site supervision for subcontractors and updating management on project status. Additionally, the candidate should mentor less experienced Project Managers or Engineers in the areas mentioned above.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION

Physical Requirements:

Visual and physical interaction with test system hardware and installed test articles. Multiple workstation assignments (office, test facility, control room, laboratory, shops, etc.). Transportation of notebooks, drawings, forms, etc. required. Ability to hear normal conversations. One eye (minimum) correctable to 20/20. Ability to distinguish eight colors on basic panel displays.

Work Environment:

Work is conducted in an office, control room, and around test facility buildings. Must be able to use respiratory protection in confined spaces. Some work areas may have high noise levels.

Equipment and Machines:

Office and control room equipment includes computers, calculators, electronic instruments, mechanical instruments, and various precision measuring devices.

Attendance Requirements:

Work assignments typically occur during standard work hours, but overtime is often necessary to support meetings, testing schedules, and operations. Testing may take place any day or time based on the schedule and requirements. Regular daily attendance is crucial for maintaining team effectiveness.

Other Essential Functions:

Provides technical oversight to assigned project personnel and assists management with administrative tasks. Must be able to obtain necessary badges and access to work facilities. Security clearance may be required by the customer.

The salary range for this position is competitive and reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries across various locations. Individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

Qualifications:

The Project Manager typically holds a Bachelor's degree or higher in IT, Computer Science, Business Management, Engineering, or a related field, along with 5 or more years of relevant experience.

Certification as a Professional Engineer in Mechanical Engineering is preferred. Certification and additional years of relevant experience may be considered as educational equivalency. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are highly desirable, as the Project Manager will interact with management and other professionals. A general understanding of aerospace testing and facility operations is beneficial. Familiarity with the following equipment is also desirable:

  • High-voltage AC/DC rectification and power supply systems
