Job Summary

Hamilton Staffing Solutions is seeking a skilled Palliative Care Registered Nurse for a 13-week assignment in Wausau, WI. As a Palliative Care Nurse, you will provide high-quality patient care and support to patients and their families in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough physical and psychosocial assessments to identify patient needs and develop individualized care plans.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, including IV therapy and oxygen therapy.
  • Manage pain and anxiety symptoms, as well as provide emotional support to patients and their families.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and develop effective care plans.
  • Provide general medical and surgical care to patients, including wound care and direction of care planning.
Requirements
  • Current RN licensure in the state of employment.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Experience working in palliative care or a similar setting.
Unit Description

The Palliative Care Unit is a 14-bed acute care unit that provides general inpatient care for patients with palliative and hospice needs, as well as medical and surgical overflow patients. The goal of the unit is to support patients in returning to a home setting.

  • Lifts and ceiling lifts for patient mobility.
  • Pyxis medication management system.
  • R5 call light system for patient communication.
  • Dinamaps for patient monitoring.
  • Decentralized telephones for patient communication.
