Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Veterinary Technician to join our team as an Emergency Coordinator. As a key member of our emergency department, you will be responsible for providing top-notch care to our patients and their families, while also contributing to the smooth operation of our hospital.
Key Responsibilities- Provide emergency veterinary care to patients, including triage, treatment, and stabilization.
- Manage the flow of tasks and prioritize patient care in a fast-paced environment.
- Assign nurses to patients, shift roles, and other tasks as needed.
- Attend and update patient rounds, ensuring accurate and timely communication with the veterinary team.
- Perform various treatments on an in-house and outpatient basis, including radiography and laboratory testing.
- Investigate and de-escalate conflict among team members and clients, providing a calm and professional demeanor in high-pressure situations.
- Ensure protocols and policies are followed by team members, maintaining a high level of quality and safety in patient care.
- Communicate effectively with clients, team members, and other stakeholders, both verbally and in writing.
- Foster a positive and inclusive work environment, promoting a culture of teamwork and collaboration.
- Current CVT/LVT/RVT certification or educational equivalent.
- At least three years of experience in veterinary medicine, with a focus on emergency care.
- Strong knowledge of basic small animal medicine, including pharmacology, restraint, and laboratory testing.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a calm and professional demeanor in high-pressure situations.
- Proficient computer skills, with experience using electronic medical records and other software applications.
