Key Responsibilities
  • Perform daily check calls on loads in transit to ensure timely delivery and resolve any issues that may arise.
  • Handle customer-related issues and inquiries in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Originate necessary documentation for freight bills and ensure accurate and timely payment.
  • Develop and increase profitable volume with existing and newly acquired shippers.
  • Build relationships with developing accounts and use strong relationships to understand customer's business needs.
  • Contact and build relationships with carriers to increase capacity for specific projects and lanes.
  • Gain up-to-date knowledge of market freight rates to determine fair prices for trucks and shippers.
  • Negotiate rates with carriers and recommend solutions for customers to senior transportation brokers and management.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service and uphold the company standard following the company principles of Customer, Company, Office.
Requirements
  • College degree highly desired or equivalent experience in freight brokerage or customer service.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in freight brokerage or customer service.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Strong customer service orientation and excellent work ethic.
  • Ability to quickly process information and make decisions.
  • Effective time-management skills with the ability to multitask.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented.
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
