Clinical Rehabilitation Services Manager

Reports to the Director or Clinical Manager of Rehabilitation Services. Coordinates, oversees, and develops inpatient and/or outpatient services to ensure quality and timely provision of care to patients. Provides direct patient care, serves as a resource person, and assists the Director or Clinical Manager in administrative tasks. Assists with recruitment, hiring, orientation, and assessment of professional and support staff.
Key Responsibilities- Communicates effectively with patients, caregivers, rehabilitation staff, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
- Develops and implements quality improvement processes to ensure patient safety, quality of patient care, and patient satisfaction.
- Provides direct clinical supervision to staff and students in the area of expertise.
- Assists in coordinating the orientation of new staff members and evaluation of clinical competency.
- Prepares for and actively participates in staff meetings.
- Assists in planning, implementing, and evaluating department goals and programs.
- Graduate of an approved School in Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Language Pathology, or Audiology.
- Master or Doctorate level degree required.
- Licensed to practice in the State of Rhode Island.
- Thorough knowledge of theory and techniques of therapy evaluation and treatment.
- Supervisory ability to coordinate schedule and evaluate the work of clinical support staff, students.
- Interpersonal skills necessary to deal effectively with all levels of the hospital organization, patients, families, members of the healthcare team, staff, and outside agencies.
- Eight years as a Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist, Speech Language Pathologist, or Audiologist with a thorough knowledge of theory and techniques of therapy evaluation and treatment.
- Two years of supervisory experience, including student supervision.
Fits for duty as documented by OSHA standard and program-specific needs.
Independent ActionSelf-motivated and directs own and staff professional growth. Initiates and participates in projects that provide a sense of accomplishment while enhancing patient care, the profession, division, or hospital.
Supervisory ResponsibilitySupervisory responsibilities for up to 20 FTEs.
