Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Clinical Manager to join our Rehabilitation Services team at Brown University Health. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating, overseeing, and developing inpatient and outpatient services to ensure quality and timely provision of care to patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care and serve as a resource person for staff and patients.
  • Assist the Director or Clinical Manager in administrative tasks, including recruitment, hiring, orientation, and assessment of professional and support staff.
  • Develop and maintain quality improvement processes to ensure patient safety, quality of patient care, and patient satisfaction.
  • Coordinate in-service and education programs, including maintenance of education records and mandatory learning.
  • Monitor clinical outcomes and consult individually with therapists to assure quality care.
  • Facilitate and direct learning opportunities based on identified staff/department need.
  • Participate in department quality assurance processes, including reviewing staff documentation for quality, timeliness, and adherence to department policy.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an approved School in Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Language Pathology, or Audiology.
  • Master or Doctorate level degree required.
  • Licensed to practice in the State of Rhode Island.
  • Thorough knowledge of theory and techniques of therapy evaluation and treatment.
  • Computer skills and supervisory ability to coordinate schedule and evaluate the work of clinical support staff, students.
  • Interpersonal skills necessary to deal effectively with all levels of the hospital organization, patients, families, members of the health care team, staff, and outside agencies.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Eight years as a Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist, Speech Language Pathologist, or Audiologist with a thorough knowledge of theory and techniques of therapy evaluation and treatment.
  • Two years of supervisory experience, including student supervision.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements

Fit for duty as documented by OSHA standard and program specific needs.

Independent Action

Self-motivated and directs own and staff professional growth. Initiates and participates in projects which provide a sense of accomplishment while enhancing patient care, the profession, division, or hospital.

Supervisory Responsibility

Supervisory Responsibilities for up to 20 FTEs.
